Let's
just think about
how good (Pro)
Kelly Berger's
weekend was at
the Eau Claire
Golf and Country
Club on August
24-25. He shoots
a 69 on Saturday
to lead the T of
C by 2 strokes,
defended his
long drive title
(man
title) at
Princeton Valley
Saturday night,
won a skin
($160) on
Saturday and
then won the
Tournament of
Champions
($1000) by
a single stroke
on Sunday in 92
degree heat with
winds at 20-25
mph. I'd say the
drive home was
pretty sweet.
Awesome
performance
by Kelly who
also won the T
of C in 2005.
Joel B.
Johnson made a
great charge
with an early
clubhouse lead
of 145 (69
on Sunday)
to finish at
145. Loren
Churness shot
75-72 to finish
third at 147 and
also earned the
2013 Player of
the Year Award.
Loren played
terrific golf
all year, very
consistent each
outing and
was also in the
hunt. Defending
2012 Player of
the Year Mark
Sperling
finished as the
2013 Runner Up
Player of the
Year.
The CVGA
congratulates
2013 Tournament
of Champion
winner Kelly
Berger, 2013
Player of the
Year Loren
Churness and
Runner up Player
of the Year Mark
Sperling.
I would
also like to
thank the Eau
Claire Golf and
Country Club for
hosting a
terrific
Tournament of
Champions event.
Thanks also to
Jim, Derek ,
Mike and the
staff at the
ECCC for your
support
,terrific effort
and hospitality
during the
event. I know I
speak for all
the CVGA players
about how much
we
enjoy the
tournament at
your excellent
facility. Thanks
from all of the
CVGA for
everything you
do for us.
I would
also like to
thank all of the
CVGA member golf
courses
for making 2013
a great summer
of golf. We
battled through
early spring
weather issues
but in the end,
the number of
players is going
up; we are
getting stronger
fields each
weekend and
there are more
young players
playing every
week. Growth is
good and we will
continue to work
on continuing to
make each event
a special event
for all of you.
Thanks for
making it much
easier for me by
all the support
you give. If we
can't have fun
on the golf
course....where
would we have
fun. Thank
you!
