Jay Jurecic Wins 2019 CVGA Tournament of Champions!

Jay Jurecic of Caspian, MI  (the UP) won this year’s T of C shooting a -4 under par 67.  A 6^th Grade Math Teacher in the UP, Jay spent some of his summer competing on the South Dakota Tour in addition to stops on the CVGA.  Finishing Runner-up and finishing off a phenomenal golf season was Player of the Year and Amateur of the Year, Jacob Gaines. Jacob shot a -2 under par 69.  Tied for 3^rd were Dean Goodwin and Travis Meyer at 70.  Two former T of C Champions tied for 5^th place-George Smith  (1999) and Greg Murphy (1993).  Greg will join Leif Carlson as they both will be inducted into this year’s CVGA Hall of Fame at the All Division Banquet next Thurs. 

A total of 58 golfers participated.  A big thank you goes out to Mike Greer and his staff for running a top notch event at the gorgeous Eau Claire Country Club.  Also, the course was in tremendous condition thanks to Nick!  I also want to thank Todd Munden for helping out again this year on the starter’s duties. 

 Another season has concluded, and it was a great year.  The attendance was down a bit, but the talent wasn’t.  There are several of you that have not claimed your winnings at the various courses….and I have plenty of cash envelopes to send to players.  I plan on “cleaning” this up before the end of the year, so if you have some winnings, reach out to the course you won winnings at if you are  an Amateur.   Send me your address if you’re a Pro.  Thanks to all…..
