Golden Gopher Riley Johnson won his
first CVGA tournament by sinking a 30’ putt for
birdie on the first playoff
hole at this year’s 2020 CVGA Hallie Open.
Finishing Runner-Up was
UW-Stout Standout Mitch Simonet of Hudson.
Both players shot -1 under par
69’s on a gorgeous summer day at Lake Hallie.
Finishing 3rd was
Matt Tolan of Eau Claire, who shot 70 and recently
finished 4th at
the this year’s WSGA State Amateur Championship at
Milwaukee CC. Fourth
Place went to WSGA, and CVGA Hall of Famer..Greg
Dick (Eau Claire Native…and 63
year’s old!!) of Whitefish Bay, WI shooting
71. Matt Fladten of Eau
Claire continued his steady play with a 2 over par
72 to finish 5th.
