After a one week
break from the CVGA Open Championship, the CVGA
returned to it's 2012 schedule at Hillcrest CC on
Sunday July 8. The weather was on the summer warm
side but certainly not the oppressive heat we have
been experiencing. So I would say yes,
Next week the CVGA stays local and is at the Lake
Hallie Golf Course where accuracy and shot making
skills will be needed. See you next Sunday at Lake
Hallie. we were fortunate to have
a great day at Hillcrest. 62 golfers participated
in the 2012 Hillcrest Open and for the first time
this season the name on the championship
trophy required a playoff after 18 holes.
Paul Meyer (69) and Brad Johnson (69) squared off
after the initial 18 and the tournament
championship went to Paul Meyer who stuffed his
second shot on the 440 hole within 4 feet of the
pin and went on to par the hole and defeat Brad
Johnson. Third place in the event was also a tie
with Jeff Ferron and Keith Piotrowski carding 71's
on their scorecard.The following players have pro shop credit available for pick-up or use at Hillcrest CC. ($61.50) Scott Bostrom, Mark Asplund, Randy Garber, Jerry Rislove, Steve Jensen ($43.05) Steve Jensen, Archie Scherbinow ($7.53) Bob Auman, John Klein, Ryan Davey, Chad Fortney, David McCook, Blake Heiman Thanks to the guys at Hillcrest for being organized, very efficient and ready to go for this weeks CVGA Open.
