 Yule wins CVGA's Princeton Open
 
 
 John Yule kept just dry enough to shoot a two-under par score of 70 and win the
Chippewa Valley Golf Association's Princeton Valley Open in the rain in Eau Claire
Sunday.
 
 
 Playing on his home course, Yule bagged four birdies on his way to his second
career CVGA win. He also won at Princeton Valley in 2000.
 
 
 Neil Johnson of River Falls carded an even-par 72 to take second place and increase
his lead in the CVGA's season-long points race. With two tournaments, next Sunday's
River Falls Open and the CVGA Tournament of Champions Sept. 8-9, to go, Johnson
leads with 132 points. Mark Sperling of Lakeville, Minn. sits in second place with
100 points and Eric Rolland of Rogers, Minn. is in third place with 90. Eau
Claire's John Holdsworth, who finished in a tie for fourth place Sunday, occupies
fourth place in the points race with 81, and Joel B. Johnson of Hugo, Minn. holds
down fifth place with 76 points.
 
 
 CVGA veteran Joe Springer shot a one-over 73 Sunday to finish in third place, while
Princeton Valley pro Tim Klauck, Greg Johnson of Black River Falls, Mike Greer of
Eau Claire and Holdsworth all came in with two-over 74s to tie for fourth place.
And John Severson of Eau Claire and Cole Stark tied for eighth place with 75.
