Wow!! What a tournament.  Many times, golfers tell me about the talent levels of the different eras of the CVGA.  I’ve been around the CVGA 35 years,  and I have never seen a more talented and “more dangerous” group of players in my life.  And the data proves it.  Dan Sutton, of Birmingham, England defeated Thomas Campbell of New Zealand, birdieing the first hole of a sudden death playoff to win the 2017 CVGA Lake Wissota Open.  Dan will be a Senior on the Kansas Jayhawks Golf Team next season where he earned All BIG 12 Conference honors last year.  Both Dan and Thomas carded blistering 62’s to tie and force a the playoff.  Both birdied 3 of the final 4 holes on their way to their 62’s.  In third place was Host Pro, Cody Peterson who shot 65 respectively. Normally, 65 would win 9 out of 10 times at Lake Wissota. Fourth place was Jason Allen of Stevens Point who shota fantastic 66. Yarri Bryn and Garrett Loomis, who currently plays for Marquette University were both at 68, followed by 2017 State Amateur Champion Matt Tolan who shot at 69.  A total of 8 players shot 69 or better on the par 71 golf course.   Bob Payne won the only skin by holing a wedge from 110 yards for eagle on hole #8 and pocketed $420!! 64 players participated on this hot and sunny day at Lake Wissota
