Tom Puls
Born on Nov. 22,
1935, Tom played his high school sports in Fond Du
Lac, WI where
he was
an all-around standout athlete. He
graduated from the University La Crosse with a
bachelor’s degree in education and received his
master’s degree in mathematics from UW-Superior.
Tom competed
for 3 decades in the CVGA and won several
tournaments, including the
1962 Tournament of Champions. He also
competed at the state level where he won the 1960
Wisconsin State Open, and the 1996 Senior State
Open.
Tom was also inducted into the
Wisconsin State Basketball Coaches Hall of Fame. He coached
and taught at both Barron High School and Nicolet
High School where he took several of his teams to
the state tournament.
He and his wife Audrey “Diane”, spent their last
years together living in Sun City, AZ where he
won 11 city tournaments. Sadly, Tom
passed away June 27th, 2016. He was
preceded in death by his wife, Diane, and son Scott. He is
survived by his daughter Christine (Gary) Wilke, and
son Mark (Debbie) Puls, and grandchildren, Craig and
Carly Wilke, and Lucas Puls.
